Protesters led by the Salt Lake City chapter of the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) called for a West Valley City budget that reflects its citizens needs as the largest minority majority city in Utah. “Most of what people call crime is a lack of resources and people’s material needs not being met,” said PSL member Amanda Peterson, who advocated re-appropriating funds from the city’s $28 million police budget to fund the needs of its low-income communities. The group said 34% of West Valley City’s budget goes to fund policing, despite the lack of statistics on the police department’s effectiveness. Apple’s big product release roadmap for the fall continues apace, with new iPhones, iPads, Macs with Apple silicon, and macOS Big Sur. But it hasn’t forgotten about iOS 14, which is gearing up for its third big point release. Apple has now released the beta of iOS 14.3 to developers, with a public release probably close behind. What’s new in iOS 14.3 In addition to bug fixes and security updates, iOS 14.3 brings several new features. These are the big ones discovered so far in the beta, though they may not all make it into the final iOS 14.3 release. ProRAW image format Apple teased its new ProRAW image format for iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max  when the phones were unveiled, but said the new image format would come in a software update later this year. It appears that iOS 14.3 makes it available.
